Let's be direct: 2025 was difficult. Inflation, tariffs, tighter credit, and policy uncertainty created headwinds that most agencies and local businesses felt acutely. We weren't immune to that, as many nonprofits and NGOs were defunded, while manufacturers sat on projects using the "wait and see" method because needs surrounding consumer goods were uncertain. But difficult years have a way of forcing clarity about what matters and, more importantly, who we are as an agency.

For IronGlove Studio®, 2025 became a year of deliberate adaptation. We sharpened focus, leaned into what our team does best, and made hard decisions about team composition and where to invest limited energy. Key conversations centered on partnership fit, using data insights to guide client work, and building long-term relationships where we could support clients beyond individual deliverables.

Sustainable growth comes from choosing the right projects, not the most projects.

This mindset shaped how we approached everything from discovery to delivery, especially for public-sector and nonprofit clients. Now that we have a smaller team, we need to focus on quality over quantity. Quick one-off projects are no longer on the table; we're only looking at solving problems where we need to get our hands dirty over a longer period of time.

A recurring theme we can't ignore was our pivot to building solid, ownable technology foundations. We focused our skills on creating software tools that favor open-source frameworks, transparent systems, data sovereignty, and clean handoffs for clients to implement solutions on their own terms.

For example, we jumped into the fray and launched IronMaps™ for customers to use in their online mapping efforts. The plugin offers a clean, simplified, privacy-centric approach to directory and resource mapping. While we have a small user base at the moment, this provides an opportunity to learn who this type of technology is best suited for, as it's not for everyone. We'll continue iterating on features with new versions this year, but launching our first software product to the public was a genuine milestone for the team. This wasn't easy, and most don't understand the work that goes into building your own delivery mechanism to achieve this.

We also reinforced how critical behavioral data is to every engagement, regardless of company size. IronGlove Studio® doesn't guess when it comes to UX and conversion issues. We collect and interpret user behavior to guide design and development decisions, and we have our own proprietary equipment and systems to do this.

This data-first approach helps clients and potential customers during discovery better understand where users struggle, identify friction points to conversion, and determine where investments deliver the highest impact across web, eCommerce, social media, and other acquisition channels.

2025 also reinforced the importance of boundaries and partnership alignment: saying "no" so the "yes" projects get full attention.

We're not afraid to turn down projects misaligned on budget, expectations, or values, especially quick, low-cost builds that undermine quality or long-term success. This discipline supported deeper collaborations with prospects who want us as technology and strategy partners, not just another vendor. After eight years in business, we're not satisfied with being "just another vendor" or a firm that "colors in the lines" just because a client makes demands. This relationship is a collaboration, a partnership, and those lines will not be blurred moving forward.

This past year highlighted how an Oregon-based, veteran-owned agency can compete at a national level.

Being named to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce CO-100 list honored more than results. It validated the approach we've taken: building tools like IronMaps™ that address real problems, maintaining our values around data privacy and client ownership, and bringing genuine curiosity to every project. We've never followed the crowd or delivered on "norms" that most others value; we've carved our own path.

Looking ahead, 2025 set the stage for how we want to scale responsibly. We're taking on more ambitious projects and building products that preserve the hands-on, expert-led experience our clients expect. We look forward to seeing what 2026 brings, and we'll continue to refine our technical skills to better handle increasingly complex projects for the organizations we serve.
