- LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Our goal is to ensure that our government clients in the municipal sector have a seamless and efficient experience.
At IronGlove Studio, we are dedicated to providing the best possible service to our clients, and we believe that our expertise in municipal website development sets us apart from other agencies in the industry.
We "Get" Local Needs
As a web development and software agency, we understand the unique needs of municipal agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). We recognize that these public organizations have specific requirements when it comes to website development, and we are committed to providing tailored solutions that meet their needs. Our team of professionals has extensive experience working with local government agencies, and we are well-equipped to handle the challenges that come with municipal website development.
As a northwest-based agency, we are deeply familiar with the unique culture and needs of our local communities. Our team specializes in creating tailored website solutions using WordPress and web applications using Laravel or Drupal, ensuring that municipal government entities receive the best possible digital experience based on the project scope. We take a data-driven and holistic approach to our projects, enabling us to deliver local solutions that not only meet the specific requirements of each government entity but also foster greater engagement and operational efficiency.
Budgets Limit Options
While larger software frameworks like Drupal may be popular in the industry, we believe that smaller frameworks like WordPress or even “from scratch” coded website solutions are better suited for local government agencies. WordPress, known for its simplicity and user-friendly interface, offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for municipal websites. With its easy-to-use content management system, WordPress allows local governments to effortlessly manage and update their websites, reducing the need for extensive technical expertise and minimizing maintenance costs.
On the other hand, Drupal, although more complex and costly, provides a robust software platform that is ideal for municipalities with intricate page structures and data hierarchies. Its advanced capabilities make it a suitable choice for municipal websites that require a higher level of customization and functionality. While Drupal may require a greater investment in terms of resources and expertise, it offers a powerful solution for local governments seeking to deliver a comprehensive online experience to their community if they are fully prepared to invest in this tool long-term.
Ultimately, the choice between WordPress, Drupal, or even Laravel will depend on the specific needs and goals of each municipal website and community, with WordPress serving as a user-friendly option and other tools catering to more complex requirements. As a resource with expertise in web development for local government agencies, we understand the importance of finding the best fit for their specific needs. When it comes to content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, or Laravel, we firmly believe that one size does not fit all situations.
We strive to avoid unnecessary expenditure of time and money on solutions that may ultimately frustrate our clients. By carefully assessing the unique requirements and objectives of each municipal organization, we can provide tailored recommendations and guidance on whether WordPress, Drupal, or Laravel would be the most suitable platform.
Our professional approach guarantees that our clients receive a solution that aligns perfectly with their needs, enabling them to effectively manage their online presence and deliver valuable services to their constituents.
Certified and Ready
Our COBID certifications in Oregon as an Emerging Small Business (ESB) and Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVBE) assist us locally in being capable and ready to take on direct awards as a prime agency, indirect awards as a subcontractor, and small projects that require quick turnaround. The Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID) in Oregon aims to level the playing field by providing certified firms a fair opportunity to compete for government contracts regardless of owner ethnicity, gender, disability, or firm size. COBID certification allows businesses like ours to bid on government contracts awarded by the state of Oregon, fostering growth and overcoming barriers. By holding these certifications, we demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion, while also showcasing our ability to meet the unique needs of government entities in the region.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) VetCert certification, which allows veteran-owned small businesses to compete for federal sole-source and set-aside contracts, and recognition by Clutch as a veteran-owned local business, are testaments to our commitment to excellence and our ability to perform at much higher levels where quality counts. The VetCert certification is important because it helps level the playing field for veteran-owned businesses like ours, allowing us to access federal contract awards and fostering growth. As a result, local governments can trust us to deliver high-quality website development solutions that meet their municipality’s unique needs.
At IronGlove Studio, we understand the challenges faced by small agencies like ours when participating in the bidding process. As a Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVBE) certified company, we are qualified for bid-free public contracts up to $50k within the state and can receive direct awards on micro-purchases up to $10k with no bid. We have found that focusing on direct awards allows us to better serve our clients and allocate our resources more efficiently. Participating in the bidding process often requires diverting personnel away from other projects to focus on discovery processes such as researching, writing, and estimating fictitious work on unrealistic timelines without any guarantee of a follow-up conversation or return on investment.
We take our commitment to providing high-quality services very seriously and are selective in the opportunities we pursue. Unfortunately, we have experienced instances of discrimination from both government entities and private firms seeking to “partner” with us. As a result, we thoroughly screen each request for service to ensure that it aligns with our values and capabilities. While we rarely accept invitations to bid, we are open to discussing direct award opportunities that leverage our SDVBE certification and allow us to provide the best possible solutions for our clients.
