PenMet Parks

Elementor, PHP, Sass, jQuery

Agency Name

Southam Creative

Services Provided

WordPress development, feature integrations, custom styling.

Acting in a lead development role for PenMet Parks as a prime subcontractor for Southam Creative, we were provided formal designs for all pages, navigation, and expected features. This agency was expected to follow through with those designs and build this project from the ground up, and we chose Elementor Pro due to its configurability with visual PHP theming to replicate 40+ pages that would feed off the master template designs. This was one of the largest projects yet that IronGlove Studio was tasked with, and we set this project up using custom post types, advanced custom fields, logic, and custom styling using both Sass and CSS. Custom jQuery was required to enhance and modify some features to bring the project into specs for the client's needs and to provide usability for area visitors. Additionally, we provided robust contact form capabilities that allowed multiple government departments to receive emails based on one contact form with logic and field validation, cutting down the clutter on the site. Lastly, we fully configured images and videos using compression techniques, setting up the server and browser-side caching, as well as integrated content delivery networks (CDNs) to handle increased bandwidth from media. At this stage, the government entity is in charge of all content and modifications to the site, but we provided a workable and scalable infrastructure that will allow them to expand offerings for the community.

As a professional developer that focuses on providing services to other agencies, don't ask me to cut corners or put a band-aid on it. There's a right way and a wrong way to reprioritize work and speed up production time that doesn't involve creating problems for clients. If you want my help, we're going to do this ethically, correctly, and to standards.

When I work with your agency, expect me to be a good listener, to be confident in what I do, and to never sugarcoat things for you. If something needs to be said for the sake of your reputation and the client's project, then expect to hear it from me first. We'll work together to come up with a realistic, professional plan for your clients that won't cause them pain.

I don't believe in slamming out cheap templates, using stock settings, or working fast and cheap. It's not only your harming your business image as an agency, but it will destroy my reputation as a professional developer. While I'm more than happy to help you, don't ask me to do things that should be found on cheap offshore contractor sites.

My goal is to work in unison with your agency as a contracted senior member of your team to augment the skills and expertise you don't have in-house. We'll need to work closely together and learn to trust one another. So expect a tight working relationship with professional pushback, and you'll need to be ready to grow from day one to be successful.
